May I ask why the XF is this wide? (78 inches?) That's bigger than most other sedans, even in the F-segment; and this car is supposed to compete in the E-segment.

(57.3x78.0x195.4)÷100 = 8733 sq.in. (Jaguar XF)

This car is bigger than the standard-wheelbase 7 Series, let alone the 5 Series.

(57.8x74.9x200.7)÷100 = 8689 sq.in. (BMW 7 Series)
(58.2x73.5x195.8)÷100 = 8376 sq.in. (BMW 5 Series)

Now the only Jaguar sedan available with a bigger than 2 liter petrol engine is the XJ. XE and even the XF (which is a competitor of the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 and Audi A6, so in Europe considered a big car!) are only available with 4 cylinder 2 liter petrol engines.

Production has already ended. Because the stricter emission regulations Jaguar has terminated the 3 liter engine in the XE and XF line up. So there are no more XE S and XF S.
