Yeah to some degree it looks very out of this world. But in my opinion, I don't think we will see a car like this for a very long time. I do love that color though.

for the majority of people, they wouldn't compare this to a aventador. So it's not really relavent. Someone would pay $40mill on a Ferrari.

..Why must you injure my eyes yet again?..

I know where you live..

And yeah, I don't see anyone getting ripped off at all...An Aventador with 50Bhp more and an Aero kit with less weight...Its ONLY 16 times MORE expensive then an LP700, So yeah, $4.5M...s certainly not a rip off........................................................................................................Oh wait, I forgot this is reality...

Well, looks better than the coupe version, IMO.

Price aside,... just look at it! 0_0

You can buy LaFerrari, P1 and 918 Spyder for that money, and still save some cash.

*Correction: and still save a lot of cash. :D

Seems Lamborghini has some serious money problems... :/

No, that's just Lamborghini customers, who have serious self-adoration problems and don't spare the money to satisfy their ego. :P

Anyway, we used to appreciate cars for technology and performance. It's obvious that the true Veneno's value is no more than $500k. But some consider Veneno to be the dynamic sculpture, a piece of modern "art"; and are willing to grab the thing as a painting of a famous artist despite the huge cost loss... I think some people wouldn't buy Veneno, if it was reasonably priced.

Whatever, if I had 4.5 million bucks, I'd rather build my OWN hypercar!

@Anon
Uh, no, it's a rip-off. Selling for 3x more than cars that are superior in just about every way? That's the definition of a rip-off.

Development? What development? It's an Aventador with a body kit and a measly 40 extra horses. Just like the Reventon was a Murcielago LP640 with a body kit and redesigned interior. Kudos to Lambo for knowing exactly how to con rich morons. As far as investments go, this thing isn't worth it from that standpoint, either. A lost Picasso is an investment. A Ferrari 250 GTO is an investment. The Veneno is just a car that will quickly fade into obscurity and only be remembered for looking like a sin against nature and being massively overpriced.

And so what if the Veneno's "development" costs would be enough to cover my life expenses for the next decade or so? It's still jack shite compared to the money and effort put into the 918 Spyder, P1, LaFerrari, or even the Veyron and LFA, so my point still stands. The Veneno is an inferior product selling for a grossly inflated price. Again, kudos to Lamborghini for being able to get away with it.

Guys, it's not a rip-off. Rip-off is a 2$ coke at a dispenser, not luxurious items rich people buy as a form of investment to preserve their money. That's why you rarely see cars like that on the street. If you just need to buy a luxury item of any sort, you simply don't care why it cost so much, you only care that the price won't depreciate as quickly as your cash value.

@CoolShirtGuy
The money spent on the development of Veneno could probably cover your live expenses for a few years.

I knew this was going to happen. Lamborghini's testing the waters, seeing how much they can get away with, without actually spending money themselves to bring new technologies to the table.

While McLaren, Ferrari and Porsche spent assloads of time and money building their new cars from scratch and making them the most advanced things on the road, Lamborghini just slapped a body kit on a few Aventadors and upped the power by some 40hp. They spent virtually nothing, charged $3mil+ for something that was all around inferior to the P1/LaFerrari/918, and people still snapped up the Venenos before all 3 were even built.

Brilliant on Lambo's part, honestly. There's a sucker born every minute, and if someone's dumb enough to pay that much, they deserve to be taken advantage of. Sure, it'll be a collector's item and increase in value over the years, but it would've been just as much of a collector's item if it sold for something more reasonable, like $1mil...Yeah, you know it's bad when $1,000,000 is the "reasonable" price.

@fangio

really, they're owned by VAG which finances EVERY SINGLE LOSS OF THE VEYRON, they can just ask audi for more money

That's one weird looking roadster.

I like this car styling, but price is absolutely madness!!! You can buy LaFerrari, P1 and 918 Spyder for that money, and still save some cash.

Yup, it's here... Veneno Roadster.

Technically it's the same as Coupe, just roofless. Top speed - 355 kph, 0-100 kph - 2.9 sec.

9 units are going to sold (triple more quantity than coupe's) with a 10%-increased price list - 4.4 million bucks... As expected, that's another rip-off in order to Lamborghini's 50th anniversary.

I have an impression that Lamborghini soon will organize the massive production of the Veneno, and the very first customer who threw millions on first units would be very angry. :D

Anyway, if you ask me, I have to say, the Roadster does look actually more refined than the Coupe! Don't get me wrong, it's still a Mess on wheels! However, the red colour helps a lot!
