Wonder if you could swap in a Ford 5.0L Coyote V8 into this thing. I've seen LS3 swaps but I like the Ford Coyote motor a bit better.

Shame the new one's going to be more "Road Oriented" There's also going to be a Sport model even more refined - shame

@ BR2+: Not lazy, just not too strict, but that's only on the highways and interstates in some places, I can get away with it in Georgia where I live, but further north, as you're getting closer to Virginia, Maryland, and Deleware, they get more strict and only give you 5 MPH leeway.

This vehicle does not need more power. Top speed and acceleration are not the car's purpose; off-roading is. And the only thing it needs the adapted suspension, and lots of torque, which it has from the diesel engine.

"the speed limit is 70 MPH and in some areas, the police allow you to drive up to 10 MPH over the posted speed limit."

Here, it is pretty much the same. You don't need to go exactly below the indicating speed limit. You can exceed another 20 kph, and the police won't fine you. But even if you totally exceeded the speed limit, beyond the permissible, and police stopped you - your money would make all the deal, and you're free.

...Allow?

Sounds like you have some lazy ass police over there...

This SUV would be close to its top speed on an American interstate where the speed limit is 70 MPH and in some areas, the police allow you to drive up to 10 MPH over the posted speed limit.

Only 120 PS? I expected more. Well, that explains its "fabulous" acceleration and topspeed.

Doesn't the British military use Land Rover Defenders?

User avatar

Yes it's good off road but it's a land rover which means shoddy reliability

I like it, it looks rugged, and off roads like a crazed woodchuck, what's not to like?

It is not supposed to be a beauty. This is the case of "form follows function". Like a military vehicle. I think it looks alright. I quite like it. And if you think it's ugly then you think the same about classic Jeeps and all old-school 4x4s.
