This car will not reach the speed of light... LOL
How many kilometers is it able to drive without stop?

The lightning is obviously the world's fastest toy, a power wheels for grown-ups who refuse to grow up. Electric cars are stupid and impractical, everyone thinks electric cars are the future, they're not, they're not, they're the past. Electric cars were once sold in quantity until 1930. Gasoline became the nearly universal choice for automobiles because they allowed for longer trips and higher speeds. Electric cars were chosen because they were quiet, ran at slow speeds, and didn't frighten horses or people, do you see anyone riding horses anymore?...Didn't think so.

This car has 4 inside-the-rim mounted electric motors like I was talking about last week - I didn't know it was already a working car.
The torque listed is wrong, though, according to this link it has 4 electric motors of 120 kw each: http://www.lightningcarcompany.co.uk/files/Lightning-Spec-Card.pdf
And then if you go to the site of manufacturer of the Hi-Pa Drive wheel motors that this car uses it lists the 120kw wheel motors as having 750Nm torque EACH:
http://www.pmlflightlink.com/motors/hipa_drive.html
Here's another site with a neat animation of the in-wheel mounted motors on a front wheel drive electric car: http://www.proteanelectric.com/live/

This Aston Martin look-alike has nice numbers with that freaky low torque, but the point of the electric motors does what, save gas,and how much, and how long will they last under severe speeds.

Alle said at 5,000 rpm the torque would be significantly lower. At 5,000rpm this thing would be going close to 300mph. Not a problem we need to worry about. (Remember we are talking 20" wheel motors)

Surprisingly, the Torque os correct, there either going to make 500, or 500 a year. and interestingly enuff you can pick what you want the engine to sound like, from a v6 orso to a v12. and this is the Brits answer to the Tesla Roadster, its £121,000 compared to the Tesla's £91,000, the Tesla's quite expensive, but the price for this seems pretty good, and it looks better than the Tesla. personally id rather see this with a nice proper engine, maybe a 6.0L V10 or 12!!

The torque is probably correct. The thing that you have to know about electric engines, is they make peak torque at 0 rpm, after which it will steadily go down. By 5,000 rpm, the torque will be significantly lower, probably only around 500 ft-lbs, given the horsepower.

$275,000 with a $30,000 deposit. performance could be because of the electric motors? maybe electric motors don performe as good as petrol/gas motors. but 100 in under 8 secs 1/4 mile in the high elevens..(MAYBE) usually 10's to 9's with an petrol engine. but yes its a very pretty car if it were me i would have put a 7.0L TwinTurbo V12 in the middle with 575bhp and 550tq...(thats what i whould have done..lol)
