"Thank you rich Chinese businessmen, thank you for saving Maserati :D"
Well.. saving Maserati? You say like they had really really bad status in recent times... But yeah, thanks Chinese businessmen for investing money not in some hole...
And these new models.. Did you hear they're planning to introduce Levante SUV.. or crossover (even worse).. Is that good? I'm another opinion... Firstly, renderings shows it might look.. hideous, honestly. Secondly, that market is just so ordinary that Maserati should not even look at that segment.. Levante would be a better deal if it was some Hyundai or Infiniti...
Shorter to say: what Maserati really should be busy with are: GranSport two door coupe mid-engined based on Alfa 4C and that would be a great successor to the Merak; or that rumored LaMaserati (LOL at the name) that could be based on LaFerrari and be a successor to the MC12 (I wish they realize it!!!)

I think if they made this a 2-door Coupe, it would be better, lighter, looks, maybe better balanced, and probably would be an even bigger hit, I liked the GranSport, and i wouldnt mind a succesor.
Hell i would love to se Maserati bring back some of the older names, Bora, Merak, Sebring, just as long as they dont pull a Dodge and mess up the Eras..

I think, they should made something like 4 door new Gran Tourismo rather than smaller Quatroporte.
MAserati GT from 2007 is still one of the classiest, stylish cars in the market. Why then, they just didnt evolve that style line from that most succesful car.
Its hard to compete with all those BMW 5,6 ; Audi 7,8 ; S, E, CLS... and so one... this market segment is so much filled up with those cars.

...What new models? this looks exactly like the Quattroporte(WHich i think they ruined it)
I like the fact they use a V6, as i would like to see more powerfull V6 engines in cars, They should have made it look lke, or atleats seem like the Ghiblis of the past.
Im sure it will look better in the years to come, as with alot of the cars presented this year, but it shoukdnt have to, rather then just to be out and first presented like that.
I was quite excited about the press relese and the hidden images, but unfortunetly was ultimately dissapointed in the outcome:(

I am happy to see Maserati as an active and successful (I suppose) brand coming out with new models on regular bases.
Thank you rich Chinese businessmen, thank you for saving Maserati :D

I just thought this was stupid, Its nothing like the previous ones of the past, Theres already a 4-Door Quattroportes that looks almost the same with the same engine.
If they made it an actually Coupe, i think it would have more of an impact, The torques also surprising being an italian car.

I don't think this is meant to replace Quattroporte but to be positioned one step under it.
Quattroporte vs. S class, A8, series 7...
Ghibly vs. E class, A6, series 5...
But I totally agree with you on the diesel option. Even though it was expected it really sounds weird to see say Maserati and diesel in the same sentence.

Shorter to say: I'm not too happy with modern Maserati tendencies. They are becoming too consumer goods! All those economical engines, these modern lines... They're planning to sell 50,000 units of Ghibli per year. That's ambitious, but bad... Maserati should always stay as an executive brand, not ordinary... They are targeting at their German competition.. Not good, Maserati should not turn into a family car, they're loosing the charm of Maserati...
The previous Quattroporte was much better looking and roared with its n/a V8 - Maserati's charm.

The new Maserati, successor to the previous Quattroporte. Ghibli... It could be a perfect one as the first old-good coupe Ghibli, but the new one carries the same disappointment as the model from 90-ties...
Ghibli model range doesn't include V8. Only basic V6, V6S... AND.... the Diesel... Yes, diesel Maserati.. you can bury me... Soon Ferrari also will use diesel engines.. and particularly exactly Ferrari developed this 3.0 liter V6 diesel for Maserati... Holy molly...
But, well, directly this one is V6S, so continue. Ghibli is available with AWD. Performance is claimed to be 285 kph and 5.0 sec to 100, 4.8 sec for AWD. Maserati claims it is more sporty than 4porte GTS, meanwhile Ghibli produces much less power/torque, so...? I don't think Ghibli is much more agile than QP, or if it is more fun to drive... However, rumors tell that Ghibli will arrive with V8, but when?..
Well, design. I have an impression Maserati is loosing this aspect nowadays... (I'm talking about the new Ghibli and QP; GranTurismo is magnificent!).. They simply don't have the charm of the previous models.. Ghibli is just too modern.. and is not beautiful enough! The front might be OK if not these mismatched headlights. The side is pretty good, much better than one-kilometer view of the current 4porte! But the back is just awful.... At least, interior - nice, it always was so. And wheels are great, not like those hideous from 4porte!
