the 190E and BMW e30 hit the market in the same year 1982... impossible that one copyed from the other. Standing side by side they look completely different. Next to that Mercedes offered with the 190E 2.5-16V Evo II the much more radical street version of their DTM race car, more radical than all BMW e30 M3 Evo versions..
In the DTM the 190E owned the M3 hard.. there Mercedes won much more races than BMW with the e30 M3. The 190E 2.5-16V EvoII was the most successfull DTM race car of all time... most wins in a single season (1992 16 of 24 races) most pole positions, most fastest laps, most victorys, most leading km, most points scored by one model tc.

This is the automatic version. There is an other version with 5 speed manual transmission (0-100: 7.7 s, top speed: 247 km/h).
The manual is slower in 0-100, because it achieves 100 km/h in 3rd gear, while the automatic version can achieve 100 km/h in 2nd gear. Sorry about my English, my motherlangauge isn't English.
