Mercedes-AMG has a history of underrating power outputs for decades now, but even more so than ever. 571x.95 = 542 awhp (general rule: Daimler/BMW drivetrain loss = 5%, compared to Chrysler 10%, average 15%, and GM/Ford 20%), but still a very conservative estimate.

Not to mention the current AWD E63s (especially Euro-spec) are lighter by 50-100kg as well.

http://hpwizard.com/engine-horsepower-calculator.html

The "M550i rival" E63: 1.3 bar max. pressure (120.43% VE un-boost) in order to produce 747 mhp with all 750 N.m in mind at redline of 7000 rpm

The "M5 rival" E63 S: 1.5 bar max. pressure (129.93% VE un-boost) in order to produce 847 mhp with all 850 N.m in mind at redline of 7000 rpm

AMG has no proper M5 Competition or M5 CS rival as far as E-Class rivals go. So that's all AMG has to offer, E63 and E63S (you can discount the E53 as that's not a "real" AMG model).

To be on the safe side however, I would say that the E63S makes 696 actual mhp, while the E63 non-S makes 614 actual mhp. Both peaking at 5750 rpm. This source (HPWizard) is geared more towards naturally aspirated and supercharged cars, I'll admit, than turbocharged ones.

The standard E63 is faster than the older E63S in the same way that the M550i is faster than the older M5.

The real lineage is:

E36 AMG and E420 (both W124 and W210)>E430 (W210)>E500 5.0 (W211)>E500 5.5 (both W211 and early W212; also called E550 in some markets)>E500 4.7 BiTurbo (W212; again, known as E550 in some markets)>AMG E63 (W213)

50/55 AMG (W124 and W210)>E55K AMG (W211)>E63 AMG 6.3 (W211 and W212)>E63 (+ E63 S-Model) AMG 5.5 BiTurbo (W212)>E63 S AMG 4.0 BiTurbo (W213)

The W212 era was quite confusing. Also, in the US market (post-2013), only 4-cylinder and V6 engines were offered for the sedan except for the AMG 63 versions.

The W213 "AMG" E43 and E53 were really nothing more than just indirect replacements for the E400 AMG Sport Package models (that were from the W212 era, as well as some leftovers trapped in W213 bodies).
