the 1000S was more powerfull than the basic Kadett 1000... don´t laugh the different was 8hp the 1000 had the same engine with 40hp and the 1000S with 48hp.. sounds not much but the effect was dramatic... the Kadett 1000 accelerated in 28s 0-100km/h and reached 120km/h topspeed..the 1000S only needed 19s 0-100km/h and reached 133km/h... today that sounds slow... back in 1962 this car was placed directly vs the VW beetle... and it beat the beetle in every possible perfromance, consuption and practical way...
