it done a 1:14 time at this Rockford track with slicks - an Porsche GT2 done 1:19 probably with sport tyres, i guess a Gumpert Apollo with ot without slicks would break the record there.

Supercharger.... its not really a Jaguar at all..... Its a Palmer (as in Jonathon Palmer ex. F1 driver) that uses a Jaguar engine..... you could walk into a Jaguar dealer here in the UK (where the JP1 is made) and they wouldn't have a clue what you were talking about if you asked about the JP1.

IT suprises me that this car is a jaguar when you consider that jaguar isnt nown for makeing light wieght tracks day street legal road cars that wiegh nothing when jaguar is nown for makeing mid size sedans and GT cars.

PS i do now that out side of makeing street legal cars jag are nown for haveing a race history and being sucesfull in lemans a few times

There are versions of the Jaguar Palmer JP1 that are road legal.
The front bodywork is different to accommodate lights and indicators.
I have the prototype, chassis number one, that was tested by Autocar and other magazines in 2003. It is road legal, having just passed an MOT and is taxed, but not an easy car the drive on the public roads!

is that 0-124mph really 8.9 secs? i mean the 650bhp Gumpert Apollo V8 TT gets there in that time, and thats got more than double the hp, granted it does weigh a 1000lbs more that in. i mean hey its great that it is, but wow, do they use slicks or somtin?

I have a picture of this car in Autocar Aug 2003 with the number 01 on the front, but same colour, is this different spec?

proof, or it didn't happen.

anyway, 5 secs back would put it in 3rd place.

The laptime is for the TS track only car.... I have the EVO magazine that this came from and its 100% not the road legal version.

User avatar

so take 5secs off (at most) for a time with normal rd. tyres

User avatar

Anonymous  18y ago

According to the reference, it had slick tyres (so not road-legal) on for the Bedford lap, as did the Radical Turbo.
