Saab Sonett III specs

Sonetts are wonderful. Loved mine

@fastestlaps please change the power to 48 kW and the torque to 115 Nm.
The manufacturer claims were:
topspeed: 105 mph / 169 kph
0-60mph: 11.5
0-100kpm: 12.2

Of course in 1981 when I encountered it, hardly any new cars were faster. Not a good time for buying new. Cars from 1970 were much better.

@ Viking: It's still slower than it looks, it looks like it should be capable of 120 MPH, but that's only to be expected from only 75 horsepower.

@Shaggy I was in the car doing over 100 mph once on a slightly downhill straight between South Mountain and Braddock Heights, so yeah 99 mph is probably a little pessimistic for its true top speed (I think the speedometer was pretty accurate). Still it did look faster than its actual top speed of maybe (my estimate) 105 mph.

@ Viking: Cool looking car, looks like it should be faster than 99 MPH. It looks fun to drive.

One of my girlfriends back in the early '80s had one of these, it was pretty and ran well for a front wheel drive V4 engined Saab. I thought it looked nice, same color as the picture if I remember right.
