It's interesting, why it was so much heavier (400kg!) than original GT350 from 1965. It must be slower then.

Why does it look so different than the 1969 Mustang? In the 1965-1968 Shelby Mustangs you can clearly discover the Ford Mustangs which they are based on. But in this? For me it's more similar to a first generation Camaro than to a '69 Mustang.
