The new Scirocco with 210 hp 3 sec slower than the old one with 200 hp?? Biggest bullshit I've seen here yet.

i put my scirocco 2.0 tsi dsg on the dyno the other day and it was pushing close to 165kw and 300nm and this was at altidude 1500m+ above sea level, and after i did software it went up to 193kw and 385 nm at altiude. next spet is stage 2

Georg is 100% correct.

again... from 08/2008 till 11/2009 VW used the 200hp CAWB engine in the Scirocco...since 11/2009 they use the CZZB engine..the same engine that is used in the VW GTI since the 04/2009 and went into the EOS in the same month as it went into the Scirocco...one big different the CAWB engine did not reach Euro5 emission limits it was only good for Euro4 the reason why it was replaced... the CZZB reach Euro5 emission limits and use 10% less fuel..the CZZB eingine is a evolution of the CAWB bothe are different to the 2.0l FSI used in the Golf V!!!

Re: Georg  16y ago

The engine from the Scirocco was and is the same from MK6 GTI. It uses chain distribution, never used on MK5 GTI. Go to a VW dealership and ask an engineer. And also it's not logic what you are saying about the compression rate. It's different because the 350Nm engines from Audi uses Audi valvelift. There are no differences between these engines, only on brochures. Thanks.

no rolling road dyno is accurate enouh to clock the true engine output, there you need a engine dyno directly clocking the power at the flywheel, but no tuner remove the engine to clock the true power.. 200-210hp is inside rolling road dyno inaccuracy. Sportauto wanted to clock the ture power of all of their supertest cars, they tested 5dynos near their office... different between the best and worst result same day with a Audi RS6 (if I remember exactly) was whooping 60hp... after that they drove to Audi were they removed the engine and set it on a real engine dyno..there the engine very close to factory claimed power.. because of the inaccuracy of rolling road dynos sportauto droped the idea...

both CAWB and CZZB got the same power output on dyno. Look out various tuning companies. I think they are pretty much the same engines.

Georg  16y ago

and they are all EA888 engines no matter if used by Audi Seat or VW

The 280 Nm variants are used in VW modells, the 350 Nm (Audi valvelift technology) variants are used in Audi modells.

thats wrong EA888 is the code for a pretty wide range of engines from 1.8l to 2.0l ... the EA888 2.0l power range from 132-155kW but with many significant differents between the different engines... just a example some have a two stage valve lift system that other EA888 versions does not have...
They are avaible with a compression rate from 9.6:1 to 10.3:1, there are even two different versions of the 155kW 211PS/208hp one with 280Nm of torque the other with 350Nm of torque.

The 200hp engine in the Scirocco was the E888 CAWB, the new 155kW 2.0l engine is the E888 CZZB... two diferent pair of shoes

Scirocco didn't switch to new 210hp engine. It had the engine from the new GTI. It was only rated by VW at 200bhp. EA888 engine.

User avatar

Georg  16y ago

it has 155kW ... ~ 210PS or ~208hp

User avatar

Anonymous  16y ago

Yet u put 208bhp?

Georg  16y ago

the Scirocco 2.0FSI has now switched to the new 210hp 2.0l engine of the new GTI... data factory claim
