Faster 0-60 than an RS3? Yeah, and I'm Santa Claus.

Testing in California particularly with it's temperate climate will always yield better perhaps even more consistent results defining over English Weather or conditions.
Car and Driver on some tests use proving grounds where maybe the initial launch maybe more grippier as a result as testing is constantly done there.
However the 0-100MPH is seriously quick too and it's the first ever results panel they've ever done or I've seen with no rollout mentioned?
Strange. So yes I'd agree with you. And on that bombshell LOL!

Interestingly similar performance to a C6 Corvette. BMW i8 60-100 mph is 5.4 seconds compared to 5.5 seconds for the Corvette. BMW i8 100-150 mph is 15.6 seconds compared to 15.4 seconds for the Corvette.

And even then a 3.6 seconds could only be performed downhill with back wind pushing the car. At 360 hp this car has a lower output than a new base Carrera 4, and that one is definitely not losing to a 10 year old car. With a better quarter mile not to mention. It's enough to surprise the same year M4 at launch (as seen on Top Gear) but afterwards the inline 6 takes it.
