What's the difference between 2015 and 2016? Any real difference that can consistently yield better acceleration times?

Yeah, so you still don't call it a 2015 car if the model year is 2016. If it's a 2016 MY f type, you literally call it a 2016 f type. Not 2015.

FastestLaps only uses introduction years, never model years. Perhaps we should make an adjustment to almost every car page. The Corvette C7ZR was released right before 2018 hit, as a 2019 model year car.
Another case scenario, BMW E60M is technically a 2006MY car, but Germans call it a 2004 car.

I think model years are strictly American invention. And seems to me they were invented by marketing people to make cars sound younger and more relevant. Its like magazines who sell the September issue in July.
