This lap the Mustang GT had the Track-Pack, hense the 2-second difference.
The older slower lap was when the 5.0 had just been introduced, no track pack at that time(not that I know of)

I kind of wonder how much of the improvement over the previous (2011 model year) Mustang GT 5.0 is due to continuous tuning of the chassis by Ford, and how much is it because Randy Pobst is getting better times from lots of practice on the same track. Hard to say. This is nearly two seconds faster than the previous Mustang GT which got a 1:27.76 a couple of years ago with the same driver.
