He doesn't know whether the car is moving to the side of the track or moving off the track, so he has to change line to the inside early. The line is not the same as the 488 lap and he isn't using as much width on corners either. You can see the line isn't right because he has to correct it. Hot laps should be completely clear of traffic.

The Merc clears way before his entry into Querspange as Gebhardt can clearly see the car moving way to the side before the second apex (which looks like he's correcting for oversteer and not hesitating). He takes the same line in the 488 GTB.
