39 Does the new Porsche 911 Turbo has enough power?

I think it has enough power.
Power is not so important today.
Of course I hoped it would have more power, but 520/560 PS are still enough.
With todays technic you do not need much power for fast laptimes (or even a good driver).

I hope we will see a track time soon.
A comparision between it and the GT-R would be awesome, too.

For all who think it have not enough power:
Wait for the GT2 (RS) ;)

Should have had either 580Bhp or 600Bhp, But gvien certain cars increase in power, Its fine where it is, Not a fan of that splitter though...The price has gone up sharply since the 997 also.

Exactly no need for more torque. Higher revs for more power, and this car would be a monster. Some loss of weight would be great too

Porsche 991 Turbo is a torque monster. It does not need more torque.

Enough power? It dont have to have more power, just more torque in wider range and better traction. And here You got the place the performance figures coming from.

@Js are you joking ? 991 Turbo is an incredibly fast car.

I see more Turbos and Turbo S around than any other cars in its competition. The balance of every day usability, style, and performance is unparalleled. It all depends on function. If any of you guys want something that will blast off into the horizon with acceleration, this car is not for you. But this car is perfect for 99 percent of people who need a usable but still sporty car.

The new Nismo GTR makes this car seem too weak, and who knows how long Porsche will have to wait before they add a facelift version. So for the next couple years, GTR is going to reign king of the class, straight line or track

Never enought power

I'm sure if they increased the boost, they could get more power out of the car to set better lap records (currently it's being pwned by its GT3 cousin). But I think the Turbo version is more of an everyday car. And if you put too much boost on it, you'll get too much turbo lag and poor fuel econ. I think if you want a truely fast, good feel, track car porsche, it has to be the GT3 now, hands down.

There are plenty of people who use dragsters as everyday cars, go grocery shopping, drop the kids off at school, etc.

Why do you people think that simply because a car has huge power, only makes it a dragster? And why do you think they cant be used like every other cars? You have no idea how many Radicals I see here going as a grocery getter, Kids being picked up in 1100Bhp Camaros, 900Bhp Slammed Sciroccos etc. Theres no such thing as not being un useable, its all in how YOU USE it. I could use a Caparo T1 to go grocery shopping no problem.

Then buy a dragster and try to use it as everyday supercar...

911 Turbo is an insanly fast super car...and what is obvious it has more power than it is claimed.

No. It will never have enough power until I can spin the wheels at the end of the straightaway in high gear.

I drove one. Feels fast, but not "rip your head off" fast. Anyway, since the engine is basically the same as in 997 Turbo, only readjusted, why the new Turbo would be much more powerful than the old one?

It has got enough power. But should it have more? YES!! :)

I don't understand the whole "enough power" thing...For me, there is no such thing as too much power; the more you have (reliably)the better it is.
I ride motorcycles and people say that liter bikes have too much power...well you don't have to use all of it all the time...never go full throttle and you get less, but it's still there when you need it!

@anti-pretzel: GTR will do 0-100 in 2"? You don't have to drink... Good luck to that shit with almond eyes! Ah ah ah.

If it had more power, that might leave less room for development on the next generation 911.

@iii: That would be too much power for the car to be effective on a track. anti-pretzel's comment is too stupid to even warrant a response.
