44 The Lamborghini Huracan STO is finally here.

Cover for The Lamborghini Huracan STO is finally here.

The hyped Performante successor looks promising, with more aero than its predecessor, light weight and extreme performance. Truly a road legal race car!

According to Lamborghini press release, Huracán STO will have 640 PS and 565 Nm from the same 5.2 liter V10, 1339 kg dry weight and 0-100/0-200 km/h time in 3.0 and 9 seconds.

Lamborghini are also advertising braking distance of 30 and 110 meters for 100 and 200 kph.

Bro the "looks promising" was for the performance side

The sto looks like a downsized riced svj

User avatar

What i wanna know is why the Huracan STO is using bespoke Bridgestone tyres?

User avatar

Lambolover  1w ago

Well the new MC20 also uses Bridgestone tires
https://www.bridgestone.co.uk/
What level of tire are them?

User avatar

SpeedKing  1w ago @Lambolover

Apparently the STO will have two options ie. a street friendly tyre and a semi-slick for track use(no idea which ones) but i'd be surprised if they were as grippy as the Cup2R's.

Hmm, less torque than the Performante, same power output, but still slower to 200 despite less weight. Nice. Definitely is gonna take the Nürburgring record (not)

User avatar

Lambolover  1w ago

We'll see :))

User avatar

Cocobe  1w ago

It’s slower to 200 because it’s RWD smh.

User avatar

Lambolover  1w ago @Cocobe

Yeah they actually have the same 100-200 km/h as claimed

User avatar

Corvolet3  1w ago @Cocobe

You do realize most RWD cars are FASTER to 200 than AWD cars?

User avatar

Corvolet3  1w ago @Lambolover

User avatar

Lambolover  1w ago @Corvolet3

Bruh I said the word "as claimed"
Lamborghini claims Performante does 0-100 in 2.9 secs and 0-200 in 8.9 secs
You don't tell me about Lambo's acceleration times

User avatar

Cocobe  1w ago @Lambolover

When traction is no longer an issue of course rwd is no longer a disadvantage

User avatar

Lambolover  1w ago @Cocobe

It's actually kind of an advantage if traction is no issue

User avatar

Cocobe  1w ago @Corvolet3

What the hell are you talking about? When you compare like for like, rwd vs AWD, the AWD will always win in short acceleration.
Compare the 610hp Huracan rwd vs AWD, same thing.

https://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/n9m0ujkm06t8

If you compare a 720s vs a 911 turbo s, of course the rwd will be faster to 200kph because it’s so much more powerful.

User avatar

Cocobe  1w ago @Lambolover

Just like top speed HyperCars. They are more efficient delivering power to the wheels But then they end up having little traction when they have 1300+HP and driving at road legal speeds.

User avatar

Corvolet3  1w ago @Cocobe

That's a Lamborghini, not a RWD issue. They just can't make RWD cars who put their power down so well, no wonder they stick with AWD.
Any mid-tier McLaren and even some low-tiers like the 570S are faster 0-200

User avatar

Corvolet3  1w ago @Lambolover

For a special version with RWD it's kind of disappointing that it achieves 200kph slower than the "regular" AWD car. Yet people have their hopes up this car will beat the new record, lmao.

User avatar

Lambolover  1w ago @Corvolet3

As I said we will see :))

User avatar

Corvolet3  1w ago @Lambolover

Fair enough.

User avatar

Cocobe  1w ago @Corvolet3

wow, this is just another level of ignorance.

Nurburgring is not made from only straight line.

User avatar

Corvolet3  1w ago @Hans

Not entirely, but enough to make a difference.

They really could’ve picked a better paint job to release the car in. Haven’t heard much about suspension and what it will be like to drive and actually around a track. I’m also shocked that with the weight and upgrading the brakes it’s still 30 meters for stopping distance. The 2RS is ~28ish. I think it will look way better in different paint and will do really well on shorter tracks

User avatar

Cocobe  1w ago

Intresting! It’s a performante that’s rwd only and hence being even lighter.
According to the figures they gave of 2.06kg/ps, that should be 1337kg dry weight. Maybe a 1460kg curb weight I’m guessing. It’s definitely not going to be winning drag races but this should be the purest driving lambo in a long time.

User avatar

SpeedKing  1w ago

The Huracan STO looks awesome and i'm sure it'll be fast on track but it needs another 40-50hp.

User avatar

FastestLaps  1w ago

If it really is as close to race car as they want us believe, it doesn't need extra power for lap times.

And you can't easily get extra 40-50 horsepower from that engine without risking reliability/emissions/consumption anyway. They would have had a 700 PS Huracan version by now if they could.

Lambo engineers are busy brewing that weird V12 hybrid that's rumored to power the next big Lambo.

User avatar

SpeedKing  1w ago @FastestLaps

Yes i agree that there are challenges in extracting an additional 40-50hp in relation to the things you mentioned and on slower to medium speed tracks it wouldn't be needed but on tracks like Spa the additional hp would make a noticeable difference. No Nurb record without the extra horses methinks.

User avatar

SpeedKing  1w ago @FastestLaps

As a fan of Italian supercars i am somewhat disappointed that Lambo didn't reduce the weight further, given that it's only 50kg lighter than the RWD Evo. In addition it only has an extra 30hp which is bugger all. This should have been a 680hp car but i'm not the boss :)

Performante

It glitched

No, you just had one unnecessary ")" after "]"

User avatar

@FastestLaps, don't you think it would be great if we could see 3 or maybe 4 articles at the same time on the home page? There were so many of them recently!

User avatar

If you scroll down you get 6 more. If I showed 6 upfront, it would be too difficult to scroll to things like latest additions or trending cars.

"If you scroll down you get 6 more."

I have no idea why I didn't see that...
