@Whowins
Wrong. The Camaro SS with the 1LE package rides on the same tires as the ZL1, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2, just in a smaller size(285s all around, I think). These are high-performance summer tires, sticky in their own right, but not that sticky. The Boss 302, in LS trim, rides on Pirelli PZero Corsas, which are DOT legal r-compound track tires. The only Camaro that comes stock with anything stickier is the Z/28.

Also, even though the Camaro has higher displacement, the Boss makes more power, 425 vs 444. It's also about 600lbs lighter than the Camaro, too.

So yeah, when you actually know something about the cars, it's still quite impressive.

Camaro is using much stuckier tires, and it has a much higher displacement. When put into terms its not all that impressive.

@CoolShirtGuy, I was just going to say that. I like the Boss302 exhaust more as well...
But I think I'd end up going for the Camaro 1LE. Faster lap times with a worse power/weight ratio than another track-oriented car says a lot.
I get more excited by the Camaro as well. I guess it's more immature, and I'm a 5year-old when it comes to cars so... yeah :P

I'd definitely choose the camaro, I like mustangs but the camaro's design looks much cooler to me. in fact as far as pony cars are concerned I've always liked the challenger 1st, the camaro 2nd and then the mustang, even the older models. I like just about every muscle car though.

Boss 302...Because I'm too tall to fit in a Camaro, and I think the Boss sounds better.

The VIR lap times are there. Just needs to update information. The lap winner is: Camaro 1LE. Even that I'm an owner of a Mustang GT. We need to accept the defeat. Much better performance of the 1LE for less $.

It seems you wrote the wrong name. 1LE is noticeably faster than BOSS LS. 1LE has same 1/4mile time with a stock SS motor from 2010, back when GT(Fastest Full Production Mustang) was making 315HP. 1LE laps VIR much faster. BOSS only has 380ft-lbs of torque at peak cause of it's chinese tranny, less torque than a GT.

LS1 motor from 1998 rated 350hp, Ramair made 375, speaking full production, mustang didn't catch up til 2011, even tho ford had less power every year for at least 30years, ALL Mustang's have 60%less drivetrain warranty. Mustang warranties only 33miles a day for 5 years

Just see the VIR lap times & most magazines place the Camaro 1LE times to be much better compared to any Mustang (except the GT500, that belongs to another league).
Great job GM. Great performance at a lower cost!
