What's with the drop off in top end acceleration for the NSX Type S, and the underwhelming braking and cornering performance?

I think Acura wanted to make its Type S a little more trackfocused. A bit like Z06-7 Corvette or T/A Viper, though not like ZR1 or ACR. The aerodynamics give it a disadvantage too in straight line and that's not even the only part.

A fellow Type S model, the turbocharged V6 TLX has 355 hp and is only within 2-3 seconds of a Lexus IS500F and a narrow-body Charger Hellcat on the VIR track.

That'd explain the top end acceleration but that doesn't explain the braking and cornering being inferior to the regular NSX. Maybe it's a mistake on the site's calculations/estimates.

Perhaps because the NSX was tested millions of times, whereas the Type S was only tested 1-2x

Hmmm yeah probably. I'm sure better info would come out soon
