The R8 facelift with 450 ps should be able to beat this, especially with dual-clutch, hopefully the price won't be raised on it though.

lol what i'm wondering is who would buy a 997 Carrera GTS? It is 5k more expensive than a 991S.
I just think it is a bad idea for Porsche to charge Audi R8-like money for the 991S. Sure, it is faster, but which car is more appealing?
If you guys had the choice, would you buy, an R8 or 991S?

The GT3 RS had a base price of $124k in 2007, $139k in 2011 dollars and that's without the $10k ceramic brakes.
A 991 Carrera S filled only with performance options (PDK, sport exhaust, sport chrono, PASM, sport suspension, ceramic brakes, and dynamic chassis control) is just shy of $120k.
So yeah, the new one is faster for less money, regarding the insane prices, wasn't the 997.2 GT3 RS ~135k last year? that's cheaper than the adjusted price of the 997 haha, another curious thing is that the ceramic brakes were $8,840 then and now, so actually, the price has gone down by about $1k on that option mmmm.
