Well, the Acura weighs 855 pounds more and has only 21 hp per tonne of an advantage over the Honda. It also has approximately 6 hp per liter less than the Honda. Overall, it's kinda pointless to buy one if you think about it. You might as well get the Accord and swap the transmission, wheels and tires from the Civic Type R.

Two things to consider, the TLX Type S is a track beast, not your ordinary muscle sedan or family sedan. It's basically a Honda Civic Type R that got married to a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 with kids and just got fatter over a Cheesecake Factory or Shogun date (in other words, for mature folks). It has two extra cylinders and AWD (both of which compensate for the heavy weight).
The TLX is not only an E-segment car, but it is actually one of the best among E-segment sedans (even more luxurious than Lexus ES and Chrysler 300, and more athletic than Genesis G80 and Audi A6). The Accord on the other hand is much lighter, its quality is nowhere as good because it's a D-segment car.
The Acura TLX Type S is a plant-based Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (yes, I mentioned Blackwing intentionally, not to be confused with the milder V). The American and German cars are almost always all about power, while most of the Japanese cars are definitely more focused on the track.
The IS500F is designed ONLY for the US market mainly because Lexus didn't want to bother making it a track star, and of course due to emission reasons. It's actually much easier to get 600hp out of an internally stock TLX Type S than it is to do so out of an IS500F.
Even around the VIR, it was only a couple of seconds slower than an IS500 F Sport Performance that had RWD, weighed 200-300 lbs less (quote me if I'm wrong), and delivered 120hp more!
If the TLX Type S had FWD, it will trap MUCH, MUCH higher than the 103mph posted in the quarter-mile result. And it also has 300lb of fat stored into its body, half of which are the luxurious amenities that come standard with the car. The Hyundai Group twins in the D-segment category equipped with the 2.5T engine trapped 105-106mph in the quartermile with "just" 290hp!
Neither an IS350F nor an IS500F are that close to being luxurious. The now-discontinued GS350F and GS F also are barely any more than a rebadged Toyota Crown.
