Some slight inefficiencies / heat management issues maybe make this BYD car slightly slower than Tesla. Tesla is at the cutting edge of power electronics, batteries and electric motors.

Maybe.. The torque on the BYD needs a correcton. According to BYD, the Seal 527 PS produces 590 NM from both motors combined

Changed to 590. The torque can be super easily "shaped" and limited by the electronics. It could produce double that amount, but there is no point. It would only increase the mechanical failures (by a lot).

Interesting. Still an interesting comparson; I've seen a lot of people talking about this BYD Seal, some comparing to the Model 3. Well, the Seal was no sporting intentions, different from the Model 3 preformance, but if even Rubens Barrichello praised this car for its stability and predictability, sure is still an interesting choice if you want to have fun with a saloon on a track.

Well designed electric car will give decent sporting potential regardless of its sporting or non-sporting aspirations. Simply because of the weight distribution, low center of gravity, instant throttle response, torque vectoring, outright power etc.
Downside is always the weight - response to direction changes, braking etc.

Yes. But 1:05 at Velo Città short is not exactly slow; the Seal got a lap time on the same range as some really sport intended cars like the Mercedes A45 AMG and Subaru WRX STI
