3.9 is measured by one of the most respected American automotive publications - Car and Driver.
Keep in mind - 0-60mph is not the same as 0-100 kph. And C&D use dragstrip which is much more "grippy" than regular tarmac. And that improves the initial acceleration quite a bit.

Where is the missing 85ft lb or torque a standard 340i produces!?! Sub 4 sec for a e92? Really? Who made up these so called stats?!!!
