The mk1 focus rs looks incredible, it drives incredibly well and feels alive, the megane from talking to other owners

The RS is one ugly car even the mark 2 is fugly. Would rather own the R26 over an 8 year old focus with the worst diff set up ever they messed up bad. So what if you can tune an RS to be faster than a stock R26 fastest laps isn't about tuned cars num nuts. And the bottom line with tuning cars is its a waste of money and you should just buy a faster car. If you tune cars your just telling people that you cant afford a better car.

i own a Focus mk1 RS and im a proud member of the RSOC id be willing to have a race against the R26R and put it in its place that a tunned RS will beat the R26R a tunned sagy arsed Megane

I think the Stig is forgetting that most of the 1st gen Focus RS models on the road today are modified to some extent or other.... stock the R26 is more than a match to the Ford..... if talking tuned versions the Renault probably wouldn't see which way the Focus went as the Ford has much more tuning potential for every pound invested.....

knowing a little about cars like i do....
has this comparison been compiled by a Renault owner? you'd have to be blind to prefer the plastic French car over the true thoroughbred listed above. and what is this 'Track Performance' score all about?? i have seen Focus RS enthusiasts with their cars at various track days, and the Nurburgring....and i have to say! you'd get a shock, what a dark horse that car is.
i mean come on....lets start talking some sense here... you'd have to be on drugs or just not have a clue what your doing to buy the Renault over the Ford.
i did hear a rumour, admittedly an internet rumour... that some crazy fool (probably a plastic cheshire northerner no doubt) actually SOLD his Focus RS and then went on to buy a Megane afterwards!!!! some people do make you laugh don't they!! i just hope for his sake he didn't buy a silly colour like yellow or anything daft like that!!
never mind some people clearly do way to many recreational drugs these days!!
