600LT has barely better power-to-weight ratio than Z06
...
on paper. Wink wink

Well I just checked, they are putting out 659hp/596lbs/ft of torque! I knew very obviously the 720S and 765LT came with McLaren magic, as they are the 4.0 litre units. But not the 3.8 litre engines!

That's more power and a hell of alot more torque than the F1! ;)

But if you look at the top speed, which is a good indicator of absolute power, it’s not that impressive.

IMO, the 4.0 engines are a much bigger step and as well, the under-rated is more exaggerated than the 3.8 ones

Track aero is much more an important aspect than top speed. The 600LT would beat the F1's top speed if it had the same drag area, but it won't because it's built for the track AND it uses safer (more modern) tires.

I'd be partial to the Mclaren 600LT, if only subjectively initially from a asethetics viewpoint. But those McLaren 3.8 litre engines are powerful. And I think sound better than the later 4.0 litre units. McLaren P1 the best of all.
