I would love to have a dollar for every time I spun a car or ran off course. On the other hand, I was very competitive with my Neon ACR (lots of negative camber, shaved B.F. Goodrich Comp T/A R1 DOT legal race tires) in D stock (early)and G stock (later rules). I wasn\'t as competitive with my C5 Corvette (not the Z06 and didn\'t have the Z51 suspension pkg either). However, I did try out a lot of other cars on test and tune days. I got a lot of experience by trading cars on those testing events (no championship points at stake).

@NIN Ha,ha, are probably right. I can just see Mr. Aggressive driver trying to keep from losing control of the rear drive Mustang. That is with the traction control nannies turned off of course. Very funny visual in my imagination. I think that you are correct that regular \"enthusiast\" drivers are somewhat less skilled (with maybe a few very unusual exceptions) than people who have actually taken a car into competition. My ten years in SCCA Solo II should give me an edge.

@ Viking
I bet if you guys switched cars and ran a few laps, you\'d still be quicker. A driver with racing experience (SCCA) will probably beat a novice/non \"race experienced\" driver. He\'d probably spin your Mustang.

Groovy. One of my co-workers owns one of these Subaru WRX Sti 2.5 litre cars and talks big about its abilities. I have heard from others that he is quite an enthusiastic (read aggressive) driver. I have become somewhat mellow with age, but I still have most of the skills honed by my years of competition driving with the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). Nonetheless, I am pleased to see that my new toy (2011 Mustang GT) is up to the task of beating his AWD rocket, if necessary.
