The Focus has the upper hand in acceleration and top speed, the Megane is more dynamic around corners. Also the Ford is more practical.
However it's really impressive how much the Frenchies pushed out of this 250 hp engine in terms of track capabilities. Take the RS Trophy and it still destroys lots of modern hatchbacks around corners. It was just too good for its time.

The Renault wins. Hot hatchery is all about all round talent. If you want only straight line speed, buy a dragster. Track times show the better drivers' car.

funny. the megane is so much cheaper yet it's better. i heard the french came up with fwd but damn! it's so much better than anything else(cupraR, 3mps, gti etc)

The Rs is a better car. In real life driving say overtaking the Rs hammers the megane, 100nm more torque for a start. Ive driven both and I choose the Rs because unlike the megane it really turns heads. As far as "Rootes" goes you are an utter tool!! Look under the bonnet and you will find a volvo straight 5 engine, i really dont understand what you mean???

to rabitron: I think you are never seen a Focus RS because the \"quality\" is really disappointing and behind the last Megane RS. Just look how the Ford Recaro\'s seats are installed or the view under the hood, it\'s just a shame.
About reliability and quality, Renault and the other french manufacturers have no lessons to learn from Ford...

take the looks into consideration, the Focus looks a lot better than the megane inside and out, especialy with that green. theres not a lot of difference between the two with power so id rather have the focus. At the end of the day the megane is french so that says a lot for what the buildn quality will be like!

haha the renault cost less and is faster...but the focus beats every car in streat line
