73 would be lighter because of the federal 20 mph bumper change in 74. You got an extra 22 hp by drilling out the 3 rivets on the back block off plate on the shaker hood and turning the Ram Air back on. First thing I did when I got my 74 SD home from the dealer . Next change was ditch the 308 ring and pinion and put in a 372. That really woke up the car. A set of headers and glasspacks were worth another 100 horses. Look at the messed up exhaust with the sideways muffler and all the bends on the factory exhaust.
