Only one unit was built. It was sold in 1982 for around 200.000 €.

According to "Aston Martin, ever the Thoroughbred" the Bulldog DP K9 was based on a sketch by William Townes, and became a development prototype. Aston Martin used it to develop new technologies. They wanted it to reach 200 mph, but they found it to have way too many aerodynamic lift problems. Eventually they did reach 191 mph at the MIRA test track.

700 horsepower in 1980, amazing, the car looks like it was designed by a geometry teacher.

WT...? Over 700 PS!
When I saw it first I thought it might have 230-260 PS.
But heck, that is much!

About the exteriour:
Looks like a Lotus...

I guess this car actually doesn't fit here whether it's an one-off prototype... if so it is possible to add Lambo Sesto Elemento or Ferrari SP12 EC, they're also one-off prototypes and are sold, as far as I know.

But, Goddamn, this Aston has 700 hp!!! Even nowadays it's pretty a lot, but in 1980 that was just... something otherwise! Damn, what transmission is here used that's able to withstand that insane torque in a "road legal" car in 1980?

About its design - it's damn impressive, but at the same time strange in the bad way... One word describes it the best - extraordinary.

Is anyone going to claim it looks somehow reminding modern Astons? :D

It extremely reminds me Countach. Bulldog's design was obviously inspired by the Lambo.

You might think this car is a prototype but actually this one is limited production model from Aston Martin called project K9. It only produced about 25 car but in reality only 1 (probably) that ever produce. It cost about US 1,300,000 It featured a digital instrumental, gull wing door and hidden headlamp
