I have sat in this car before. Not a supercar by any means. Maybe the new one is, but certainly not the last generation Vanquish or the one before it. It was definitely more on the Bentley and CL-Class AMG side of things as opposed to the Ferrari V8 and V12 GTs. Even a C6 Corvette or 997 Carrera S from 2005 can hang with this car with far less horsepower, and that’s saying something. It is on the same level as the Camaro ZL1 and XKR-S.

In 2014 Vanquish has gained 3 HP, 10 Nm and a new 8 speed transmission which dramatically improved the top speed.

Aston does claim prepped 0-100km/h times much like many American automakers do (yes, I know, Aston is not an American brand). That 3.8 is surprisingly not a rollout time, but it's still a prepped one. But the real 0-100 time is around 4.1 as a magazine report says. Even Car & Driver got 0-96 in 3.6 with the rollout.

If you add 0.3sec to the above acceleration numbers, it's 3.9 to 60, 8.6 to 100, and the 1/4-mile in 12.2 at 121mph. Clearly, and oddly enough, the US-spec Vanquish is faster than the Euro-spec one. I think that has to do with the relatively lenient emission standards in the US.
