Its 555lb-ft of torque rating is not its "true" rating. It's underrated like that because it uses a weaker ZF 8HP than its DB11 (or should I say, DBS) counterpart. Aston didn't want it outperforming the DBS so they chose to use a weaker trans like BMW and Maserati do with their "fast" cars.

Anyway, got to leave it there. There's another needing my attention, lest the idiots will call you a hater for stating verified facts and even though I've been tracking it for what seems like an age when rumours first surfaced around 9-12 months ago circa! And I've also followed Aston Martin for decades! LMFAO!😂

Aston Martin cars are Ugly, Dull, Slow and Overpriced.

It's time to shut the factory down and turn it into a donation center for the homeless.

My estimated lap times
Motor Trend Figure-8: 22.2 sec @ 1.16 G
Nürburgring Nordschleife: 7:11
Top Gear Test Track (Power Lap): 1:14

How I estimated these lap times
Motor Trend Figure-8: (((((((900/(30/22)x(1766x2.20462262))/0.014)/690))/0.5)/1.36)x0.86x0.77)x0.86

1.36 G x 86% slope angle.

Nürburgring Nordschleife: ((20600m/(300km/h/(239m*0.3048m))x(1766kg/690hp)/1.36g)x0.0095

Peak speed at 300 km/h around the track, 300-0km/h braking figure of 239m. Maximum grip of 1.36 G.

Top Gear Test Track (Power Lap): ((3728lb+75kg)/690hp)x((1.75mi)x12)x.86x.75

I am surprised that the current-gen Vantage is one of the very few cars NOT to be given direct track width numbers, even though the widebody V12 model is said to have been given a 40mm advantage over the narrow-body V8 model.

Not one website lists track width figures for a current-gen Vantage except for the race-only GTE model, and I don't count racecars.

This is very important for my upcoming simulation testing with moderate supercars. Most RWD cars have track widths past 60 inches up front, and the DBS is listed at 1665mm/1645mm (front/rear). The DB11 is listed unofficially at 1655mm/1625mm (front/rear).

Seeing that the V8 Vantage uses the same platform as both the V8 and V12 versions of the DB11 and is just as wide as those two, no change in track width is needed between the three cars. Given the 40mm improvement in the V12 Vantage, the V12 Vantage's overall track width is assumingly a bit wider than the DBS Superleggera's.

1665+40 = 1705mm (front)
1645+40 = 1685mm (rear)

Wheelbase? 2705mm.

1705/2705 = 0.6303! That is a VERY good ratio for a sports car. According to HPWizard, the typical ratio is 0.53!

Aston Martin Vantage V12 Sexy Metrics!

OK so an extremely early first draft and I've decided to utilize km/h calculations that are essentially straight off the cuff. Anyway here>

0-100= 3.2
0-200= 9.2
0-300= 27.2

FIN.

Why is it significantly slower than the DBS Superleggera? That one does 0-100km/h in 3.4s and dispatches to a top speed of 340km/h.

Quote>"After what seems like years of spy shots and teasers, Aston Martin has finally revealed its highly anticipated 2022 V12 Vantage. Sporting some serious upgrades over the V-8 model, it uses the 5.2-liter twin-turbo unit from the company's bigger DB11 and DBS Superleggera, rated at 690 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque. Purists will be sad to hear that unlike the last V12 Vantage, there's no manual available. But Aston promises a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph."
