Audi Q7 V12 TDI (Mk I) specs

Randomly browsing supercar pages made me realize that torque matters more than power in a lot of cases and now I'm wondering why hasn't there been any production supercar with a diesel.
Audi had all the opportunities to put the V12 TDI into an R8 for example (and they did - there was a concept) but that never materialized.
Could've also imagined Peugeot doing such a thing - after all the diesel 908 won Le Mans a couple of times

13.1 quartermile equates to 12.8 with rollout. This was a crazy SUV that could almost keep up with the RS6.

This was the Bentayga W12 of its time!

V12 with increased capacity Le Man's winning engine= AUDI DIESEL POWER! Unbelievable road presence and the engineering was and IS an all time great SUV.

thats nearly identical with the 3.0FSI Q7 quattro with 333hp

Audi Q7 V12 TDI will be a monster more, if its much lighter than now.

@Ky close racing rivales is based on power to weight ratio... and with 190hp/to cars like the 350Z s2000 or Cayman S are a close match

I have seen tests and it shows that this car does 0-100 in 4,9 sec and 0-200 in 18,5 sec?

If that Audi looked like that diesel one, that would have No problems getting sold, none what so ever, even if it were a diesel, but i wish they would have used that body though.

No dude. Its because the Diesel engine was too complex and fitting that engine will be costly.

Shame they didn't put the R8 diesel with the same engine into production. Scared that no one would buy a diesel supercar! lol

i get what your saying but, i ment that a full supercar that wears the volkswagen badge. non porsche non lambo non bugatti, full on volkswagen!

at the moment not, they own the largest part of Volkswagen but they still do not have the full controll.

In fact Volkswagen is a big player in the Supercar segment...
Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lamborghini Murcielago, Audi R8 all are build under the rule of Volkswagen

VW are already in the supercar ranks as they are part of Porsche ;-)
