Not such a bad idea if the hybrid system is neatly integrated (also acts as starter, stop-start etc.). But this is one complicated car. In comparison to fully electric cars, this is like a Swiss mechanical watch versus 1980s Casio.

I agree that it is unnecessarily complicated. It has all the problems of a modern, complex diesel engine and all the problems of fully electric car.
It may not matter for the current owner who buys it new, but it will be nightmare after 10 - 15 for the second, third, fourth owner.

Check the Autozeitung test track time first and second - compare against the old S4.
