M2 CS competition

The M2 CS is a solid display of how an unrestrained and unrestricted M2 would or should look like. Just looking at the base M2 and at the new M240i xDrive shows you how they were nerfed in favor of the F82 M4 models with the same names. The normal M2 F87 has almost identical laptimes to the new M240i despite heavier weight on the G42 side:

This M2 CS on the other hand almost has similar acceleration to the old M4 CS. It's obviously a bit slower than its big brother but also cheaper.

Quote>"As per German car magazine Sport Auto, the M2 CS, which comes with an S55 engine producing 444 horsepower at 6,250 rpm, put down the equivalent of 484 horsepower when tested on a dyno. Torque, which is advertised at 406 pound-feet, peaking from 2,350 to 5,500 rpm, was measured at the equivalent of 472 pound-feet."
That torque level is MONSTROUS and the spread too. Even just looking at raw numbers and rpm ranges instead of a dyno graph.
But then it's to be expected, the V8 twin turbocharged engine in the BMW M8 Competition or CS? (can't remember, it was awhile ago) was exactly the same!
Also~ why has this page got like 12 comments? Perplexed!

So BMW claims 1550kg, but Harry weighed the car at 1429kg, albeit half a tank of gas.
Remember all the people who cried foul when he weighed the 911 turbo S and it was a bit less the than claimed weight while also being lower on fuel. Perhaps his scale is wrong to begin with...

Sport Auto (9/2020):
36 m Slalom: 139 kph
Spoof Auto mesured 491 PS, maybe that is why its so fast.

Dialed up the power some more and dialed up the price a lot more.
Ok.. it's lighter too.
