Remember the CSL is on CUP2'R' tyres , I had these on my M4 Comp XDrive and did at least 9 seconds quicker laps around the Ring and 2 seconds more on every other track than street 4S or PZero ... so if you factor this into the times then the M4 Comp Xdrive on Cup2 R and a professional racing driver ( that can take much better use of the CUP2R ) is VERY VERY close to CSL times if not even beating it ....!!!

"2023 BMW M4 CSL First Test: So Fast It Actually Hurts."

The problem with Car & Driver (and other American mags to some extent) is they don't typically test European cars on their own. Most of "their" results are actually copies of either Motorsport Magazine or Auto Bild Sportscars. Sometimes Quattroruote.
In reality, they mostly test US-spec cars, yet inflate the numbers by 3-4, or even up to 5-6mph in the 1/4-mile trap speed figure to make them seem like they are as fast as their lighter, Euro-spec counterparts.
The US-spec M4 CSL is an easy 11.6@124-125 car, but I wouldn't call it an 11.2@131 car. Actually, even the Euro-spec CSLs in production form (which means excluding one-trick-pony, for-the-press "ringers") would have a real hard time doing that 11.2 quarter-mile time, especially considering the downforce levels of these cars.
I became skeptical of magazine tests in general when ABSC got a "stock" 2015 Hellcat's 1/4-mile trap speed recorded at "212.5 km/h" (132 mph!).
