*Apparently a video with 100-200km/h in 3.1 seconds is going to be made available soon.

That would put 0-200km/h right on factory manufacturer *claims of 5.5 seconds.

0.6 seconds quicker than the Bugatti Chiron.

Interesting.

*Subject to release plus verifications.

Mat Watson says that the Chiron Pur Sport is 2 sec faster from 60km/h to 120km/h than the standard Chiron?? Given that the standard Chiron does it in less than 2 sec that's quite the claim lol

Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport goes Formula One? Well no "Grand Prix!"

And Bugatti if your reading this, that guy in the press office, put a Racelogic VBox on it and test it's backside? The 0-300km/h will SHOCK people, if the rumours I hear are true. Thank You, LOL! ;)

Thank You for the calculations. I'll think them over and let you know my thoughts!

User avatar

ChironSS  2m ago

Ah yes. Forgot about this. I think the 0-300km/h is perhaps a little high. Bugatti originally claimed 13.6 seconds for the "base" Chiron and achieved 13.1. Quicker than the calculation. She's definitely good for 12 seconds or under to 0-300km/h according to Bugatti, though that's an unverified claim. And I've seen numbers at 11.6 seconds- unverified ofcourse.

Someone needs to test one. Quattroroute. ;)

User avatar

196ss  2m ago @ChironSS

That's the thing, according to the calculation, it turns out that the Pur Sport is slower to 300 than the base Chiron. With the same power 50 kg of difference in weight can't compensate the deterioration of the drag coefficient from 0.36 to 0.41...
If Pur Sport can do 0-300 in 12 seconds, it turns out the base Chiron should be even faster.

User avatar

ChironSS  2m ago @196ss

The Bugatti Chiron was quicker in the 200-400km/h range at the Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds. 300-400km/h it was from memory 3.5 seconds quicker than the 0-400-0km/h ex record run at Ehra Lessien with a Formula One driver!

As for the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, have you factored in the dual clutch transmission? It's got a far closer stacked ratio's. Acceleration will be better just with that alone my friend.

;)

User avatar

196ss  2m ago @ChironSS

Yes, I took that into account.
Shorter ratios only make a difference at speeds up to 150 km/h, and then only marginally.
Usually, shorter gears really only accelerate cars with relatively weak engines. For Chiron, it shouldn't make much impact.

User avatar

ChironSS  3w ago @196ss

196ss can you do me a favour please~ when you've got time? Could you work out acceleration for the Bugatti Chiron Supersport taking into account these different factors~

Power "corrected" @1699hp
Tourque "corrected" @1799NM?

Everything else exactly the same!

I'd appreciate it as a benchmark. Thank You in advance, I believe my work on it is finished.

User avatar

196ss  3w ago @ChironSS

All right, I'll do the math.
But for calculation, I need not only the peak values, but the entire power and torque curve.
I'll take the torque curve from Cannonball Garage dyno test for base Chiron, and add some more power in the high rpm zone up to 1699 hp.

Is that your estimate of SS power on the special high octane fuel?

User avatar

ChironSS  3w ago @196ss

Well it does take into account 100 octane premium pump fuels. But it's possible the power would climb even higher! LOL! I kept the torque at Bugatti Chiron levels once transmission losses were accounted for~ 1800NM. In reality this on the Bugatti Chiron Supersport could be even higher! I'm too scared to even think!

Thank You!^^^ Dyno!

OK, Chiron SS with 1699hp@7000rpm and 1799nm@5100rpm:

Metric system:

0-200 - 5.64 sec
0-250 - 8.09 sec
0-300 - 11,28 sec
0-350 - 15,63 sec
0-400 - 22,46 sec
400 m - 9.14@270.0 km/h
1000 m - 15.98@352.8 km/h

Imperial system:
0-60 - 2.39 sec
0-100 - 4.22 sec
0-150 - 7.65 sec
0-200 - 12.93 sec
0-250 - 22.87 sec

1/2 mile - 13.94@207.8 mph
Mile - 21.83@245.8 mph

Top speed limited to 440 km/h - 273.4 mph.
Unlimited - 487.0 km/h - 302.6 mph

User avatar

ChironSS  3w ago @196ss

Thank You so very much! I really appreciate this very much.

I am particularly thankful you included the MPH numbers! 0-200MPH there is but a tenth of a second between our two timings be it calculations or simulations! I find that quite incredibly impressive.

I originally benchmarked my figures against the Bugatti Chiron Sport test in Car and Driver Magazine almost a year ago! They achieved 15.7 plus 0.2 rollout so 15.9 seconds altogether.

My figures for 200MPH- 15.9 seconds was just over THREE seconds quicker! I couldn't quite believe this when I calculated them, but they were absolutely spot on!

This car punches SO very hard from 0- 200MPH and beyond it's bloody mesmerising!

The 1/4 mile is VERY close to what I calculated over a year ago!

All I'll say in final is, Thank You again and whilst I'm tempted by those Italian beauties, the classy and elegant Franco Germans are ALWAYS in pole position!

Now we need someone to test these metrics! ;)

User avatar

ChironSS  3w ago @196ss

Quote>"0-200 mph = 13.7 sec."

This is a hybrid car with E85 assistance and three electric motors. If the Bugatti Chiron Supersport can match it I'd be shocked, but if it ends up being quicker, I'll be speechless!

I'm still trying to workout the above cars power, but I get conflicting information from the manufacturer and from people who seem to know.

Anyway their battle will be titanic!

User avatar

196ss  3w ago @ChironSS

These figures don't seem real to me, to be honest. But I think the Supersport should do 300 in less than 12 seconds, and 400 in less than 26.
I'd love to see a real test in the future, although it's unlikely happen.

User avatar

ChironSS  3w ago @196ss

Well these are calculations and simulations. They will never mimic reality in weather conditions and factors, ground grip etc. Million and one variables. An actual Magazine test would be cool. I mean owners even tested the Bugatti Divo recently and timed it, so anything is possible.

As for "real" World performance the Koenigsegg's 0-400km/h is roughly X2 what their 0-300km/h time is verified at. I don't believe the SS is too far from this!

I'll leave it that!

;)

User avatar

196ss  3w ago @ChironSS

Fair enough, but only taking into account that Bugatti gains 1-1.5 seconds from the start due to AWD.

User avatar

ChironSS  3w ago @196ss

Yes this is very true. The difference with the SS accordingly to my calculations and simulations is, it will hold that gap to 200MPH and beyond. I want to see it race over a mile!

User avatar

ChironSS  22h ago @196ss

Your calculations for the SSC Tuatara state>

1/4mile - 9.56@169.6 mph
Mile - 21.59@263.3 mph."

Well I was benchmarking and I can across something incredible in Russia!

1/4 mile= 9.678 @169.976MPH~ verified
1 mile= 21.590 @263.30MPH ~ verified

Unlim 500+ 13.07.2013~ Underground Racing Lamborghini Gallardo!

Note, that mad Russian Lamborghini had more claimed power, but the SSC Tuatara definitely carried a lot less weight. So even without going into incredible depth their performance's are very clearly effectively similar vis a vis!

The SSC Tuatara is in a whole different myriad of ways is in it's technical specifications package, far superior.

And whilst I cannot garuntee it, I feel it's eminently possible for the SSC to match it and exceed the calculations and benchmarks.

I just thought you'd like to see that research! She's going to be very incredibly but impressively difficult to beat!

With the SS out SSC is in LOL!

In the "article" below, it states that Garrett Turbochargers are X price. Although I've been busy reading up on many different cars, I'll repeatedly come back and tear different parts of the alleged "information" apart with Sources. To come for this I just remembered.

But anyway getting back to my point the turbochargers are actually manufactured for the Bugatti Chiron by a GERMAN OEM. MM or something like that. The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport shares essentially the same engine as the base specifications Bugatti Chiron.

So his pen slipped when he wrote that and other information down. At somepoint I'll be visiting his tick tock site. LOL...

I DON'T think I've laughed so much in my life. Just bear in mind ALL newly delivered Bugatti Chirons come with FOUR years complimentary free servicing. So parts of this seem straight up bullshit to me.

Anyway I'm NOT quoting anything!

LOL!

User avatar

ChironSS  6m ago

On a prepared surface I think this can hit 8.95 seconds @ 163MPH. It'd be enough to dispense with Telsa but unfortunately the Rimac Nevera is out of it's reach.

The standard production Bugatti Chiron could do 9.2 at 160MPH itself possibly anyway!

Bye bye PLAID! Oo

I think it shouldn't be bad. At least should be faster than SVJ.

Quote>"Hamilton, Verstappen and his crew get to 300kph in 10.6 seconds, while we clocked the Pur Sport reaching the triple tonne just a second shy ."

Seemingly independently "clocked" corroboration with Top Gears claims. Not verifications ofcourse but still first news.

Also other articles claim 0-60MPH in 2.1 seconds.

And finally 60-120km/h is dispatched in 3.4 seconds instead of 7.4 seconds quicker than the standard Bugatti Chiron in SIXTH gear. So FOUR seconds faster. The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is a MONSTER!

If they limit top speed to 350, I hope they don't charge the ridiculous 20k per set of tyres that Veyron was famous for. The whole excuse for this was that tyres were special made to withstand 400+ speeds. Now when they officially limit the car to 350, whats the point?
