I have news that the car i had tested just rolled over in a crash. I knew that car's setup was too soft.

This is basically a severely underdamped Chinese land yacht, with excessive body movement and lingering heave over bumps. Honestly, I’d take American-style land yachts like the Infiniti G37, Nissan Fuga, or Lincoln MKZ over this. China does have other comfort-oriented, isolated-feeling family cross, such as the ONVO L60, but even those don’t just keep rocking back and forth endlessly🙄

Opinion:
The cars main point is definetly a very good family car with 43cm of maximum legroom and accesible ISOFIX locks in the rear.
The interior is spacious and full of technology, altough the rotating screen is a complete gimmick and distraction when in vertical mode, the seats are very comfortable and are heated and ventilated.
The Air Purifier function works but you don't really feel it. The rear seats are angled, therefore it feels more spacious than what it actually is, but the seating position is too angled and therefore the headrest is useless. Interior quality in terms of materials is good, except for lower hard plastic parts and terribile door handle cracking noises. Design-whise the exterior is very clean, yet it is a little more basic than something like a Mercedes or Jaag, the interior is nothing new, but the screen has uneven bezels that absolutely trigger me.
Ride quality is excellent, it handles everything very well but the only thing you can actually feel is changes in road surfaces and potholes.
Being used to the Alfa Romeo 159, the driving experience is absolute dogshit in comparison, the steering is very soft and unresponsive, maybe worse than the Fiat Panda. The gas pedal had me thinking it was floppy or i wasnt hitting it, it gives off no feedback. Overall very nice family car but really basic.
Also you cannot force it to use both the ICE and EV at the same time, even in the HEV mode. Figuring out when the car uses the engine is weird even after consulting the site, if the engine icon is orange, its charging the battery, if it's orange and connected to the wheels its powering the wheels.
Pros
• Perfect Ride Quality
• Excellent Comfort
• Great Space
• Quirky Functions
Cons:
• Extremely boring and unresponsive Driving
Experience
• Stupid haptic feedback buttons
• Badly assembled door handles
• Confusing Hybrid system

Hybrid system: the engine wont drive the wheels till over 70 kph, since it doesnt have a trans, so I think ICE and the motors' peak power wont stack, since this function is mainly aiming for highspeed efficiency, not sportiness.
Driving dynamics: For a BYD sounds just 'bout right. They may excel at EV tech but just dont care about actual handling, specially on family cars.
Interior quality: Also true, BYD was never known for its detail finishs, or rather it's opposite, cost control. It may help BYD do well in budget cars, but it also hampers them on premium segment and above, as they are not selling well in the CN market. Also note that Seal U (Song plus)'s price range here is 12-18K EUR in CN with no rear motor (1.5L NA 74KW+EMOTOR 160KW, FWD), so it was originally aiming for a different segment.

Just rented one of these, quality is decent: good materials but assembly is mediocre.
Space is a lot in the rear due to angled rear seats, at 6'1 i have one span and 2 fingers of legroom at maximum, but the front seat becomes unusable.
Even in HEV ypu cant understand if the engine is on.
