Must be absolutely wild to be Chinese and in market for a new car. The choices are just too many. How can you make sense of what to buy in terms of features let alone any kind of long term running costs / reliability estimations.
What has happened in China during the past ~10 years is probably biggest explosion of auto industry in history.
There just seem to be too many players in the industry. And some kind of consolidation is bound to happen, and it would benefit customers. Because having 100 different manufacturers with 100 different replacement parts supply chains is just too crazy.
What are the odds that you will get specific replacement parts for some interior display or trim piece for some random Kung Fu Big Red Funky Ant Cat in 10 years?
