Just found a very interesting drag race by the German fanatics of muscle cars!

 

The results are as follows (1/4 mile):
Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder: 11.3s
Corvette C8 Stingray: 11.5s
BMW M3 Competition: 11.9s
Chevrolet Camaro SS: 12.2s

Much closer than I originally thought, despite obvious power advantage of the Germans.

0-300kph (186mph) in 35sec and a top speed of 344kph (214mph) are easily achievable, the latter figure measured in 1% downhill by my simulation standards.

It's faster, but not quicker, than the 911 Carrera GTS.

Carwow claim that they don't use roll-out for their 0-60mph time but having used 2 stopwatches to check the the 0-60mph time of 3.64 for the C8 Corvette i got 3.88 and 3.9 sec so i'm calling bullshit. Check for yourselves 14:41 mark

Way too overrated by Motor Trend and Car & Driver. Mine was full loaded with performance options only I managed to do a 0-60 in 3.2 seconds using 1-foot rollout, and a quarter mile in 11.6 at 120 mph. Measured with Vbox at sea level.

I am perhaps the first person on earth to finally have figured out how to calculate a rollout. Basically break the 0-10 estimate in half. For standard Stingray models it will be 0.22sec, and for Z51 Stingray models it will be 0.21sec. Chevy didn't directly clarify on whether the 0-60 times of 3.0 and 2.9sec were rollout figures or not, but if you head to their Mexican website they display a 0-100km/h time of 3.35sec, which is roughly 3.2sec to 60mph.

There is a chance that Chevy's 0-60 claims are conservative for the Corvette, akin to Porsche's for the 718 and 911 competitors.

Another way to calculate rollout (and this is for cars with rollout 0-60 times) is to multiply 0-10 times by 1.5.

The Stingray can go from 0-60 in a range of 2.78 to 3.22 seconds. The Z51 can sprint to 60 in a range of 2.69 to 3.11 seconds. For pre-500-mile cars, add 0.42sec.

With pre-500-mile launch control = increased rolling resistance to 0.110 (which is 0.011 x 10), while maintaining the same rear axle load coefficient at 0.923 = instead of 3.16s to 100km/h, it's 3.58s; instead of 6.84s to 160km/h, it's 8.32s; instead of 10.64s to 200km/h, it's 14.04s.
