Back when Ferrari was a surprisingly conservative brand.

Comparative blogs are like anything else. Opinions are like *******s, everybody has one but let’s be pragmatic here folks. Considering money IS the final straw w/ what....98% of us?? That said the ONLY comparison here is performance & THATS ALL! My 2006 Corvette was 97 dollars short of 65K out the door. What was the F430??? About 200K? In my eyes, even used there’s STILL NO COMPARISON. THEY BOTH HAVE 2 Leather seats & 4 tires. After that it completely stops. You simply CANNOT COMPARE a hand made almost piece of fine art to a production assy line car. My best friend pays over a grand for an oil chg. I pay 79.00 dollars . He paid over 6 grand when he had to replace his rotors recently. I paid less than 1K for 4 brand new rotors & race pads. Quit comparing a monaLisa to a fingerPainting!! Cheers everyone. RCD/ LA CA

I have a heavily modified 06- Z51 Corvette Convertible & my best friend & Co- Pilot has an 06 - F430 Coupe. My car puts 523 to rear wheels w/ 467 ft lb tq. Where we “ race” (HPSD) I regularly out perform him. But overall, we are just about dead even. The simple truth is , paid for or not , you damn well better put back an Amt.Equal to or better than a car pmt.every month JUST TO AFFORD MAINTENANCE!! If money wasn’t an issue, dear god, OF COURSE YOUD WANT THE STALLION But considering it is to 95%of us ILL TAKE MY AFFORDABLE BEAUTIFUL CORVETTE ALL DAY LONG!! Honest truth is wherever we go my car gets just as much attention has his & I don’t sweat my next oil change!! Lol.

The 480 horsepower Nissan GT-R and the 483 horsepower Ferrari F430 accelerates faster than a 572 horsepower Lamborghini Murcielago. LOL.

Dude, I'm no GTR fanboy, **** nisasn, I'm just saying that these car's aren't at the same level. If you have a 6200 cc ZR1 you have to put it on the line next to a 6200 cc Ferrari like the FXX and not a grand tourismo 599, but the FXX have 850hp so that will smash the ZR1 anyhow. And the ZR1 does a Quarter mile (~400 m) time: 11.2 (source: wikipedia) not in 10.7.I chose the Carrera GT because it's successor (the Porsche 918 Spyder) only has a 3.4 litre 500hp engine.

Mmmmmm. I own a z06 my friend has a 430 we have just done 2,000 touring europe. Vette is quicker in general. Uses a lot less fuel carried more luggage including some of mr 430's .got over speed ramps better.... Buy the cars drive the cars then comment

Z06 looks better?? Your either an American or a little simple.. I bet your misses is fat.

Anonymous 14y ago
If they cost the same, the 430 still wouldn't have 470 ft/lb of torque. I can't say the F430 is all around better. And if the Z06 did cost as much as the 430, I'd just have to settle for the cheaper ZR1.

Don't get me wrong, the z06 is a nice car that performs well, but let's do a reality check here. If the Vette cost as much as the 430, this wouldn't even be a discussion. While they both perform comparably, the F430 is more well composed, more well made, better quality, better looking, and just all-around better.
I've rented a z06 for a day, and while it was fun, I felt like I was driving a fast piece of junk.

Anonymous 14y ago
If you're a talking purely performance, it's hard to say the Z06 is better. They are in the same class, but that's about all you can say. Laptimes here aren't all from the same test. Only Variano is to my knowledge, and in that test, the 430 used PZero Corsa's (though it's a factory option). What you can take from individual tests is that the 430 is more composed. The Z06 likes to oversteer. The 430 is more nuetral and benefits from more downforce at high speed.
The reason I'd take the Z06 is the combination of performance and design philosophy.

dont get me wrong, the 430 isnt a bad car, but i just think Corvettes are better than the 430. but i wouldnt take a Corvette over Any Ferrari. personally i think the ZR1 is to Monstrous for my taste, i like the ZO6 better.
AeroDynamics decades ahead? umm i do believe the C6 Vette has a Cd of .28, where the F430 has a Cd of .34, so i wouldnt say decades ahead
hence formula 1 cars have neanderthalian aerodynamics. i strongly suggest the moderators to replace the silly verification code with a basic 2nd grade level question (such as "how many wheels does a car have"...) to post a message on this board...
