Cars aren't from one country since forever. But one country has to specified for every car model - it is the country where either the automaker is headquartered or most of design/engineering happens. Often it's a difficult call - Ford is typical example. Some Fords are 100% German/continental European, some are very UK, some are made and primarily sold in States. I think all of the Euro-Fords (like Focus, Mondeo etc) are listed as being German, although, they are now global models as well, and God only knows where all the parts come from.
