@ Fangio: Nope, this is road legal and it's really has 580 hp. But don't expect good handling even it's AWD. 25 produced by Ford but most of them are converted to Group B Rally Car. One just came to our garage 4 month ago and completely restored.

You think that's difficult to handle...
You should try an Audi Quattro S1
Built like a wing (it flies on jumps) and with the engine in front of the headlamps.

It was the best handling Group B car because of near 50/50 weight distribution.
Plus it has 3 different differential settings:
46:54 for gravel
33:67 and 0:100 for tarmac

Did Ford really made it that strong or is it a race/tuner car?

Well, I update this old data
24 cars are produced and it broke acceleration record in 1980's. However, what people don't know is, this little rocket is handle like the devil himself. When one of this came to us and need to get restored, none of my friend can drive this thing without spun it out. But surely after a hard work, We finally can set very fast laptimes at Suzuka and Tsukuba.
