Sorry, I was confused! I wrote wrong time speed! The correct time speed is 0-160km 13.8second. My last car was DC2 Type-R and I had many races with S2000 (friends of mine) and we had exactly the same speed during our race. I do not know if fuel plays an important role in other countries.

We do not own the copyright for this picture. I believe it is Honda\'s own publicity photo and, therefore, you can use it quite freely.

Hey guys, is it possible for me to use the picture of Civic FD2R on this page for my school website I am making.

I hope this source is reliable.
Georg u seem like you really have a passion for Honda\'s hey? Lol I\'ve read u trying to tear them down on pretty much every honda page.
It gives a good laugh, so please don\'t stop :)

it isn´t the fastest on a track in stock trim that is the Renault R26.R (which perfrome on Mugen Type R level for 2/3 of the Mugen price)...and we only change numbers if you come up with a source to back up your claims..
this car gets hardly owned by the R26.R at the track...
http://www.fastestlaps.com/index.php?page_id=compare&car1=4725ed280dbc3&car2=4886c2337c47d
not enough that the R26.R is much faster around any race track than this JDM FD2 Type R .... it does this trick for the same price in the UK...if I am not wrong the only market in the world were both are offered as imports

The FD2 Type-R does a 0-100kph in just 6sec. . . some claim 5.9sec!
I drove one for some time now here in japan and considering to buy one as my daily drive soon, as it is just so insane to drive at 8500rpm in corners . . . .
What many of you guys don`t understand is that the FD2 weights about 80kg less then the FN2 EU-Type-R,plus has gotten around 25PS more. So condiering that a FN2 can do a 6.9sec from 0-100kph, an FD2 must be correct at 6sec.(same as a 09 Focus RS)
The Type-RR is claimed to hit the 100kph mark at 5.1sec.
So the FD2 is at least as fast as any Eu hothatch from 0-100kph and is 100% the fastest car on a racing track in stock form.
Last note:
The FD2 in stock form is a complete graded down car from the full Mugen version , which isn`t a tuners car either as you can order your FD2 streight from the catalogue with warranty with all the Mugen goodies . . . which will give you a car with at least equal power to an S2000 and about 20kg slimer again.

were does the laptime for Hockenheim come from?
sportauto online has not a single article about the JDM Civic Type-R online and there is no laptime in their online Hockenheim laptime data sheet... I seeked the web and have found only one page without any reference claiming this time... I delet it again till sources pop up!

Sheri 12y ago
The 0-100 time must be wrong above. I'm sure its as quick as the EK9 CTR type r Civic at 5.5 secs. At 6.3 secs its not much quicker than 200bhp ep3 type R. What ARE the REAL 0-100 times of the FD2 Type R and The Mugen Type RR?? Can somebody give any accurate figures on that??

I guess everyone is a neutral nation besides Japan.
Oh boy lol. Someone doesn't know that different days equal different conditions which can change lap times drastically. In the videos hes posted there was a Nismo 350z racing with the FD2 Honda Civic Type R.... Look at the record. the Nismo 350z is AHEAD of the Type R on tsukuba. Yet in the video the Type R beat the Nismo 350z... Why? because this time it had Semi Slicks on. So all in all it makes GOOD sense. And they didn't post time attack times either. They posted times with other cars on the track.

@mad international TV Auto magazines like BBC 5th gear (UK), best motoring (Japan), DMotor (Germany), carmagzines etc... most track tests are avaible as video on youtube...
I don´t compare the times but best motoring sometimes get strange results with underpowered Civic´s that get close to supercar perfromance... outside Japan the same cars tested in a neutral nation (like Porsche and Honda tested in the UK) the different between a JDM market Civic Type R and a 997 GT3 RS are lightyears on a shorter track than best motoring Tsukuba...
According to race drivers like Chris Harris the most hardcore hot hatchback isn´t the JDM Civic Type R it is the Megane R26.R... current laprecord holder for FWD at the Ring

mad 13y ago
Georg where did you find all this track times....are they comparable i.e. same driver, same conditions..... Moreover how can you compare a Civic type-r even the JDM version with a 997GT3 RS. They are not comparable.

mad 13y ago
Car is OEM 225Hp and compares very good with the competiotion around a track..., Astra OPC is miles back when you throw some corners in. So is the Golf. Megane is much closer though

Douglas6250 13y ago
If it's being raced with all other FWD cars on a race track, it would definitely be the fastest.

Georg 13y ago
I am realy confusing about the best motoring Tsukuba Honda Type R laptimes... no matter if Integra Civic or NSX..
This JDM Civic Type R was tested by BBC UK 5th gear at the Castle Combe race track vs the Euro Civic Type R..yes it was way faster as the euro Civic Type R (which is the slowest hot hatchback currently avaible in Europe)but the JDM Civic Type R was still one second slower as a normal BMW 335i Coupe or Audi S5.. not to talk about the different to real hardcore track cars like the Porsche 997 GT3 RS... the GT3 RS was nearly 10seconds faster on a 1:15-1:25min long Castle Combe lap... at best motoring the GT3 RS can beat the half as powerfull and only 200 lbs lighter Civic Type R only by 3 seconds..
At UK Bedford Autodrom in the Evo magazine test this JDM Civic Type R is only less than 1.5s faster than a 25hp less powerfull more heavy VW Scirocco.. exactly the same happend at the very long Silverstone race track were it only gets 1.8s advantage over the more heavy less powerfull Scirocco... other than at the best motoring tests the JDM Civic wasn´t even in the near of real sportscars neither at Silverstone and not at Bedford.. that let look the best motoring times look strange..

ive driven this on track before. It cant be compared to hot hatches because they are not track ready but this is.
yes on the straights on chipped turbo will beat it but come the corners no way the big turbo RWDs or even AWDs can out corner it.
The Mugen tuned ones are superfast but of course it gets trashed by say 997 RSR.
