Hello everybody.
As I said a few days ago, I bought the Autocar magazine last Thursday dated 28 May 2025, and I looked forward to reading this 6 page road test of the Lotus Emeya 600 GT
I'll start with the acceleration figures.
They are in miles per hour.
0-30 = 2.0.
0-40 = 2.7.
0-50 = 3.4.
0-60 = 4.1. Nice.
0-70 = 4.8.
0-80 = 5.6.
0-90 = 6.5.
0-100 = 7.7. Quick.
0-110 = 9.0.
0-120 = 10.5. Same as the Bentley Flying Spur Speed.
0-130 = 12.4.
0-140 = 14.6.
Standing Quarter mile = 11.8 sec at 127.4 mph.
Standing Kilometre 21.0 at 155.5 mph.
Top speed = 155.5 mph.
Each of the following headings got 4 stars: Design & Engineering, Interior, Performance, Ride and Handling, Track notes and Buying and Owning.
But the Assisted Driving only got 2.5 stars.
Autocar describes the Emeya as a super saloon.
They confess that the car will not sell well.
And it's right up against the Porsche Taycan.
They also say the Taycan is being outsold by the Macan Electric.
The Emeya has four-wheel steering and air suspension.
There is a more powerful Emeya 900.
I'm sorry to say Autocar did not get behind the wheel of that car.
The Emeya is a big car. Its length is 5.1 metres which is longer than a Taycan.
The Emeya weighs 2478 kilos. That's heavier than 3 S1 Elises!
Autocar's Emeya is painted Fireglow Orange.
But for some strange reason that colour is not available for the 600 GT car.
The interior is very well put together. Soft smooth leather, Alcantara, real metal and carbonfibre. There are not many physical controls. There are paddles on the steering wheel for the drive mode and regenerative braking. The infotainment is well thought out. Motorway cruising is quiet. It has an excellent hi-fi system. But the Taycan's seats are more comfortable than the Emeya's.
The Emeya has outstanding steering feel and noise insulation.
The drag coefficient is 0.21.
And the car is 4WD.
Autocar place the Emeya 600 GT in 3rd place behind 2nd place BMW i7 50 M Sport and 1st place Porsche Taycan 4S. But ahead of the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 and the Tesla Model S Plaid.
That's it folks.
Safe driving from Flt158
