The McLaren 620R dry weight is 1282kg so the curb weight would be at least 1380 kg so the posted spec is wrong.

I removed the weight (assuming it really is dry weight). Publishing dry weight is misleading, most manufacturers publish kerb weight (in itself subject to manipulation) and no human being ever actually weighs a car in dry form. So it is a bad, useless figure. At least for the layman.

McLaren haven't put up the complete specs on their site as yet but they do list dry weight for their other a thousand and one cars lol. Curb weight should be easy to provide because all one has to do is have all the fluids in the car and at least a 90% full fuel tank ready to drive minus driver weight of course. Problem is you can't trust manufacturers as far as you can kick them to release accurate figures. They're all playing games with their supercar curb weights. Why the hell should Euro spec differ from Murican spec?

I hate dry weight specs. No car can run with dry weight. Engine oil, water coolant, brake fluid, petrol obviously, washer fluid. How does dry weight have any purpose except for trying to trick people to think your car is lighter. (Tho mclaren cars tend to really be lighter than its rivals)

Perhaps fastest laps should have a dry weight stat option. That weight is obviously wrong

Why? McLaren 600LT's weight is about 1350 kg

McLaren model range becoming increasingly confusing. But I don't mind as long as they are building these world beating super fast cars!

Porsche are still the #1 brand in confusion with more than 50,000 different types of 911.

I heard that McLaren will change to 6 cylinder engines soon.

Wouldn't be surprised if its V6TT + electric motor. V6 is not a bad idea for design - allows for slightly better placement / weight distribution than V8. Think Ford GT Mk II.

Of course, you lose some potential in max power, but not in max torque / torque curve flatness, because V6 can be made with same displacement as V8 and still be smaller.

The thing i don't like about the V6 engine is that they sound like crap esp with turbos. If one could afford a super/hypercar then nothing beats the aural delight of a V10/12 engine even if it means more weight.
