If anyone remembers the Speedtail, the successor to this car just might get a detuned version of the W1’s engine with around the same power as the old hyper-GT. 1050-1070 PS to compete more squarely with C8 Corvette ZR1 and Aston Valhalla.

Actually, this car is very much downforce-focused, as with every other mid-engine McLaren. McLaren NEVER listed the explicit downforce figures of its cars (other than the MSO HS). Every Super Series McLaren is basically an evolution of the Mercedes SLR 722. That car generated as much as 122 kilograms of downforce. The base SLR produced only -29.7 kilograms of downforce (yes, that is a "negative" 29.7) at an undisclosed speed.

https://carsnet.github.io/slr.html

The 12C was tested by a specific magazine with a downforce figure of 120 kilograms at 300 km/h; I assume it is not that much different from the SLR 722 in driving dynamics. It's mid-engined, but it really isn't significantly different from the SLR (at least any more than the mid-engine C8 is from the C7, C6, and C5 Corvettes, all of which actually sit on some variations of the same platform).

Pretend the 12C and the SLR 722 produced the same exact downforce figures.

((rounded to the nearest 1))
650S = 24% more over 12C/SLR 722 = 151 kgs
675LT = 40% more over 650S = 212 kgs
MSO HS = officially 220 kgs at 150 mph (???)
720S = 50% over 650S = 227 kgs
765LT and 750S = 25% over 720S = 284 kgs

A rounded-up-to-300 kilograms figure, or a rounded-down-to-250-kilograms figure, may not seem like a lot; but for a car whose intent isn't battling lap times (LT cars are much more like Ferrari Speciales and Pistas, than Lamborghini Performantes and STOs and SVs and SVJs, and Ferrari XXs...which are reserved for R-coded cars and the Senna), that's an incredible amount of downforce.

McLarens are if TVRs (AKA the British equivalent to Vipers) were manufactured by Renault/Nissan (and I mean that in a good way).

I'm gonna take one extra step and say that the 765LT and 750S actually generate as much as 350 kgs in downforce at 150 mph, and much higher at 186. The LT program has long evolved, and the 765LT was an even more serious track monster against the 488 Pista and Huracan Tecnica than the 675LT ever was in its contemporary days against the 458 Speciale and Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale.

Moreover, I think the McLaren continues that legacy of the modern-equivalent SLR lineup. The SLS AMG and AMG GT are not comparable in the same vein as true supercars; they are more mainstream grand tourers like a BMW M6 or M8.

I'm sorry to say that the above acceleration figures are confusing.
How can a Mclaren 750S Coupe accelerate from 0-50 in 2.4 seconds?
And then get from 0-60 in 2.3 seconds?

Safe driving from Flt 158

Power should be changed 789 and torque 841

Usual Mclaren way of underrating their cars and using the most aggressive and expensive tyres.
