I work for a Mercedes-Benz dealer and I am just about to pick one of these little beasties up and take it to a customer with around about 40 miles of open road in between, it is icy so I hope I get there in one piece. I also got to drive one around the Estoril circuit in Lisbon. then tomorrow I fly to Dubrovnik for the launch of the new E-Class, SL, SLC and S-Class Cab........... I have a hard life! lol

please delete the 0-40 kph time.
Deleted. But as long as its a legit time, it doesn't matter that its slower than 0-50. I don't see it as a contradiction. Its just two different tests.

uptownfunker 8y ago
Lol..... For example, the Bentley GTV8S only has a 0-200kmh figure published, yet it has one straight-line performance estimate. https://fastestlaps.com/models/bentley-continental-gt-v8-s

uptownfunker 8y ago
No 1/8-mile est? Most cars with this amount of performance figures listed would have one or two distance estimates.

This little sucker is FAST!
Proves just how important efficiency (wide torque range engine and super fast tranny) is.
This car punches above its weight and is one of the fastest accelerating 2 wheel drive sportscars on the market.

...A bit...
just arrive at any place with the doors open in the SLS, But its certainly not as "Out There" in terms of publicity like the SLS was, Could be due to demand? Or the amound delivered to each country? You can huild them on both the UK and German Benz website, Cant on the US though, So I think its out.

aaaa 9y ago
Somehow I don't see this car getting as much popularity as the sls, in fact from what I can see, the new amg gts has seemingly dropped off the map aside from a few tests here and there. It's a shame because I genuinely like this car, but the sls just seems to have more of a "wow factor" for me.

I belive its the best sport GT on market right now.
911 might be better sports car but, its just part of the job.
GT S is fresh, looks nicer, got some character, V8, torqe.
The only thing that let me down is the "corporate Merc face" This car could look so much better withot that "restriction" but maybe some tuners will fix it, and give the face more retro style.
