I don't really like neither this neither the GT63 E performance. Both are way too heavy for my taste. And, most of the performance gained by the hybrid stuff gets eaten up by it's own weight...

I welcome you to Mercedes C6.. sorry C45 AMG E Performance

There was a point in my life when I wanted a C63, but I’d always worry about them being money pits after a few years. But the V8 was always a pull at the heart strings.

This new one is obviously going to be have worst reliability, and it’s also lost the biggest selling point of it.

I think this one should be capable of cracking the 0-200 in 11 seconds flat. Might lose some (a lot of) power on the way to top speed tho

interesting fact it has a 50/50 front to rear weight distribution. This is because the electric motor is in the rear

Changes

Quoted>"

1) Name to C63 S E Performance.
2) And ‘a minimum’ of 752lb ft.*
3) Tipping the scales at 2111kg.
4) Power 670bhp (469bhp @ 6725rpm + 201bhp)
Torque 725lb ft (402lb ft @ 5250-5500 + 236lb ft)."

There could be other changes. I'll look at the detailed press releases etc shortly, if they available.

But she's heavy! Car Magazine were spot on!

I trust Car Magazine alot. Not as much as another magazine but still their research is usually first rate. THEY were the ones that broke the Bugatti and Rimac deal news FIRST.

Anyway unfortunately on this occasion it's not exactly the greatest of news!

Quote>"The hybrid hardware adds approximately 200kg, taking the total close to 2000kg."

That's pretty high. It's bordering on Bugatti Chiron weights! I guess we'll have to wait for the tests but the power to weight ratio will obviously suffer so acceleration will too.

@Fastestlaps could you please add one of the pictures from below to the above header. It's incorrect. You can choose which, but that rear view picture is "tight!" ;)

Tbh, this kind of fits the amg Mercedes’ traditional position. The c63 has always been heavier but more powerful than it’s rivals. Faster in a straight line, slower thru the bends. More over engineered, but less reliable.

4 cyl in a C63
Idc if it "runs better" than a V8 C63 performance wise
This is just a big F U from Mercedes to themselves
They made the EQ series so that they wouldn't slaughter their original lineup and make them full electric but then they slaughtered them anyways
I hope this is the last Mercedes that gets destroyed like this

Or one can hope that it's a V8 under there but it's silent because of PPFs and shet like that

That's a GT 4-door in the picture!

Other figures to follow. Weight etc. Sourced from Autocar from the Festival of Speed 2022. Any mistakes contact THEM.

It could be certain technical specifications change. So what? It's not like we've to wait five years for it! LOL!

You should have added the car under Mercedes-AMG, not Mercedes-Benz. They're calling all of their AMG cars like that now.

Quote>"Mercedes has confirmed that the petrol unit has been tuned to give 470bhp in its own right for the new C63 - making it comfortably the most powerful four-cylinder engine in series production. It will then be paired with a 201bhp EV motor on the rear axle – a set-up Mercedes refers to as the 'P3' drivetrain – to give a total figure of 670bhp, some 167bhp more than the BMW M3, its closest rival.

This is despite a 50% reduction in swept capacity and cylinder count. With the benefit of electric boosting, it has also been conceived to deliver up to 553lb ft of torque – a 37lb ft increase on today’s C63 S 4Matic."
