Powertrain aside, the G8 GXP wasn't really designed to go fast in a straight line. Real world performance shows the LS3 GXP only having a marginal advantage over the L76 GT in that department. This car was more about the fun factor, and it was really a Collectors Edition variant of the GT with just a different engine and subtle appearance changes.

Despite having R/T levels of power, the G8 GT was always a Charger SRT8 competitor.

I think this was one of the best sedan buys out there. It is a shame its gone.

I know Holden still makes them but they are not nearly as good looking and we dont have them in the U.S.

The track is not downhill. That is an optical illusion.

Also, there are many GXP's that have run quicker than a 13 flat showroom stock.

I saw the youtube of 12.81... very fast indeed, but the track seems downhill a bit, so the 13.0 sec flat is probably more accurate

Nordshcleife laptime of 8:30 seconds was deleted because it was not official and this link (http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/pontiac-g8-gxp-will-do-nurburgring-in-8-30-ar67417.html) you entered even confirms that.
